Social Worker – Families First Team (Permanent)
Location: Southend-on-Sea City Council (Hybrid working available)
Salary: £39,152 – £45,091 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Southend-on-Sea City Council to recruit Social Workers to join their Families First Teams within Children's Services.
Southend offers seaside-city practice within a compact unitary authority, with Families First Teams working across assessment, child in need, and child protection to give families continuity of relationship.
The Role
As a Social Worker within the Families First Team, you will:
Work with families across assessment, child in need, and child protection, providing continuity of relationship.
Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments that clearly analyse risk, need, and protective factors.
Build purposeful and trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.
Develop and review safety and support plans that reduce risk and promote family resilience.
Prepare clear, analytical reports for conferences, reviews, and court where required.
About You
You will be a committed and capable practitioner with:
A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Confidence working with complexity, risk, and multi-agency partners.
A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
