Social Worker – Looked After Children Team (Permanent)

Location: Southend-on-Sea City Council (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £39,152 – £45,091 (dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Southend-on-Sea City Council to recruit Social Workers to join their Looked After Children Teams within Children's Services.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Looked After Children Team, you will:

Manage a caseload of children looked after, ensuring care plans are progressed and statutory responsibilities are met.

Build stable, trusting relationships with children and young people in care.

Complete high-quality assessments and reviews that keep children's needs and voices at the centre.

Work closely with carers, families, IROs, and partner agencies to secure permanence.

Prepare clear, analytical reports for reviews and court where required.

About You

You will be a committed and capable practitioner with:

A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.

Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Confidence working with complexity, risk, and multi-agency partners.

A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
