Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Sandwell Children's Trust to recruit a Senior Social Worker to join their Family Help Team.

Sandwell Children's Trust delivers children's social care across the borough with a clear practice model and a strong focus on early, purposeful help for families. The Family Help Team works with children in need and families at the earlier end of the safeguarding continuum, so this is a role for an experienced practitioner who wants to prevent escalation, hold complexity where it arises and support colleagues around them.

The Role

As a Senior Social Worker within the Family Help Team, you will:

Hold a caseload of children in need and step-down child protection work, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments that clearly analyse risk, need and protective factors.

Build purposeful and trusting relationships with children, young people and families that lead to lasting change.

Lead on the more complex cases within the team and offer advice, guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.

Work closely with early help, education, health and community partners so families get the right support at the right time.

About You

You will be an experienced and capable practitioner with:

A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

Substantial post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, including child in need and child protection work.

Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills and the confidence to hold complexity and risk.

The ability to mentor and support colleagues and contribute to a strong practice culture.

A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.

Why Sandwell Children's Trust?

A competitive salary plus a £2,500 annual retention payment.

A dedicated children's trust with a clear practice model and a strong focus on outcomes for children.

Supportive leadership and a strong culture of reflective supervision.

Excellent training, development and career progression opportunities.

Hybrid working arrangements and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.
