Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Southend-on-Sea City Council to recruit a Social Worker to join their Adolescent Intervention Prevention Team.

This team works with teenagers facing risks outside the home, such as exploitation, going missing, serious youth violence and family breakdown. It is a role for a practitioner who enjoys building relationships with young people and working creatively with families and partners to keep them safe.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Adolescent Intervention Prevention Team, you will:

Hold a caseload of adolescents at risk, including child in need and child protection work with a contextual safeguarding focus.

Complete high-quality, strengths-based assessments that clearly analyse risk, need and protective factors.

Build purposeful and trusting relationships with young people and their families.

Work closely with police, youth justice, schools, health and community partners to reduce risk and prevent young people coming into care.

Prepare clear, analytical reports for conferences, reviews and multi-agency meetings.

About You

You will be a committed and capable practitioner with:

A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.

Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, ideally working with adolescents or extra-familial harm.

Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.

Confidence working with complexity, risk and multi-agency partners.

A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.

Why Southend-on-Sea City Council?

A competitive salary within a coastal city service investing in its workforce.

Specialist adolescent practice with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
