Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Birmingham Children's Trust to recruit an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Help service.
Family Help brings child in need, child protection and assessment work together, so families keep the same practitioner as their needs change and do not have to retell their story every time they move between teams.
The Role
As a Senior Social Worker within Family Help, you will:
Hold a complex caseload across child in need, child protection and assessment work, keeping the focus on the lived experience of each child.
Lead section 47 enquiries and child protection planning alongside police, health, schools and other partners.
Complete thorough, analytical assessments that set out risk, need and strengths clearly and lead to purposeful plans.
Support and mentor less experienced colleagues and contribute to a reflective, learning team culture.
Represent the Trust confidently at conferences, core groups and multi agency meetings.
About You
You will be an experienced and confident practitioner with:
A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
Substantial post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care, including child protection.
Strong analytical writing and sound decision making under pressure.
The ability to guide and support colleagues while managing your own caseload.
Why Birmingham Children's Trust?
A £1,000 Golden Hello and a £5,000 retention payment alongside a competitive salary.
Hybrid working and a strong commitment to reflective supervision.
Clear progression routes within one of the largest children's services in the country.
A supportive Family Help model built around consistent relationships with families.
